WeCare ("WeCare") gives you full control over your data. This page explains how to request deletion of your WeCare account and associated personal and health information, what is deleted, what may be retained for legal reasons, and how long it takes.
How to request deletion
You can request account and data deletion in either of these ways:
Option 1 — In the app
Open WeCare and go to the Profile tab.
Open Settings and select Delete Account.
Confirm the request. Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted within 30 days.
Option 2 — By email
Email mp@wecarehospitals.in from your registered email address, or include your registered phone number.
Use the subject line "Delete my account".
We verify the request belongs to you, then delete your data. We confirm by reply once complete.
For your security, we verify that a deletion request genuinely comes from the account holder (via your registered phone number or email) before processing it.
What gets deleted
When your deletion request is processed, we permanently delete or irreversibly anonymise:
- Your profile and identity details (name, phone number, email, age, gender, ABHA ID).
- Your health profile (blood group, height, weight, allergies, conditions).
- Medical records and documents you uploaded.
- Family members you added.
- AI assistant conversation history.
- Saved preferences, device push tokens, and notification settings.
What may be retained (and why)
Certain limited information may be retained for a defined period where the law requires it or where it is necessary for legitimate purposes:
- Transaction & invoice records — retained for the period required by tax and financial regulations.
- Medical/consultation records — where applicable medical-records regulations require a minimum retention period, these are retained for that period in restricted, access-controlled storage and then deleted.
- Records needed for legal claims, fraud prevention, or to comply with a lawful request.
Retained records are isolated, access-restricted, and used only for the stated legal purpose. They are deleted once the required period ends.
How long it takes
- Immediately: your account is deactivated and you are signed out.
- Within 30 days: your personal and health data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised, except for records we are legally required to retain (above).
Practitioner accounts
If you are a doctor or nurse, deletion also removes your verification documents and practice profile. Records of completed consultations or visits may be retained as part of the patient's medical record and for legal compliance, as described above.
